As the voice of the self-directed retirement industry, RITA members regularly visit with the staff of the Senate Finance Committee, the Treasury Department and the House Ways & Means Committee to keep regulators and legislators apprised of important industry issues. RITA representatives also meet with staff from the Internal Revenue Service and the Department of Labor on substantive retirement issues.
RITA representatives have submitted written testimony and given oral testimony before the Department of Labor on various topics.
RITA closely monitors the various proposals on tax reform currently in Congress as well as those being put forth by the Administration.
RITA representatives also work closely with the National Association of State Securities Administrators and the Federal Bureau of Investigations to reduce fraud in the retirement industry.
